Key West Parasailing

Experience Key West from the Sky

Want to see Key West from the sky? Want to see the view from 500 feet or more above the emerald green and turquoise blue water that surrounds Key West? Float above everything while you parasail over the waters of Key West. Spot sharks and dolphins from your vantage point, or maybe catch a sting ray sleeping on the ocean's floor. It's a fresh perspective on Key West, and the most exciting way to spend part of your vacation. You don't get many chances to float gently over the ocean and gaze down and see the marine life down below. Turtles are everywhere around Key West, so you might see one of these cute creatures coming up for air. Many passengers get thrilled at the amazing sharks they see in the waters from above while parasailing. Don't worry, you won't even get wet unless you want to, so they can't get you.

How Parasailing Works

Parasailing is when a passenger or two get lifted into the sky from the back of a boat, via a parachute. They passengers are harnessed safely to the parachute and a tow line connects them and the chute to the boat. The boat is specially made for parasailing because it has a large launching platform on the back deck. The driver of the boat causes the parachute (and the people) to rise upwards and away from the boat by driving forward and using the wind to lift the chute. The driver controls the speed and height of the chute by how fast he or she drives. If they want, passengers can get dipped, which means the driver can lower them into the water for a refreshing dip in the ocean. When the ride is over, the driver or his mate pull down the parachute using a hydraulic winch. The passengers are safely and gently pulled back onto the launching platform on the back of the boat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What if the line connecting me to the boat breaks?
The tow lines used for Parasailing are able to withstand 10,000 pounds.

  2. I can't swim. Can I still go parasailing?
Sure! You launch and land from the back of the boat, never touching the water.

  3. What if the boat breaks down while I'm in the air?
If the boat malfunctions, the parasailer will simply glide gently down with his or her parachute, wearing the required personal flotation device.

  4. I'm not really athletic. Will I be able to handle parasailing?
Yes. All you have to do is sit in the harness and enjoy the view.

  5. Can my friend and I do it at the same time?
Of course. We can take two at a time-just ask for a tandem.

  6. I am traveling with a group. Do you give group discounts for parasailing?
Definitely-just call and ask and we'll set you up.
