Key West Florida is a tiny island way out in the Atlantic Ocean, 120 miles from mainland Florida. The last inhabited island of the Florida Keys, Key West boasts the Southernmost Point in the continental United States. We’re only 90 miles from Cuba, which is closer than Miami. Yes we’re a tiny city, but we were once the biggest city in Florida, back in the heyday of wrecking and pirates, in the mid-1800s. Today, there’s still evidence of Pirates in Key West Florida, but mostly in the museums and on special occasions like Fantasy Fest.
